How to use WireLang™

From install to live translation in about two minutes. No technical skills needed.

1

Install the extension

Get WireLang™ Live from the Chrome Web Store and click Add to Chrome. The WireLang icon appears next to your address bar (pin it from the puzzle-piece menu so it's always one click away).

2

Sign in with Google

Click the WireLang icon and press Sign in with Google. One click — no passwords, no forms. New accounts start with free translation credits so you can try it immediately.

3

Choose how you pay (or don't)

Two options, switch anytime:

  • Credits — use WireLang's built-in engine. Top up from the popup when you run low.
  • BYO key — paste your own free Google AI Studio key and translate at no WireLang cost. Here's how to get one →
4

Open what you want to understand

A lecture, a live stream, a webinar, a recorded class — any tab that plays audio works. Make sure the tab is the active one.

5

Pick your language and press Start

In the popup, choose the language you want to hear, set how loud the original audio should stay in the background, and press Start Translating. Within a couple of seconds you'll hear the translated voice over the softened original.

6

Control everything from the floating toolbox

While translating, a small WireLang™ panel appears on the left side of the page:

  • Pause / Resume — hold the translation without ending the session.
  • Stop — end the session completely.
  • Volume slider — balance the original audio against the translated voice.
  • Timer — see elapsed time (BYO) or remaining credits (Credits plan).

💡 Tip for streamers and presenters: WireLang™ translates the tab you're capturing, so your international viewers can run it on your stream — no setup on your side. Share the wirelang.ai link with your audience.
